New requirements for employees travelling for work

To all employees travelling for work

January 21, 2021

As part of the efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19, CAE is authorizing essential travels only until further notice. Considering frequent changes in travel restrictions imposed by many countries, employees who travel for work are asked to carefully plan their next business trip and comply with applicable procedures and protocols before boarding an aircraft and when arriving at their destination.

All employees travelling for work must book their travel arrangements using AMEX and discuss their travel plan with their manager and where applicable, the designated project manager. The manager and/or the project manager are responsible for the travel of the employees in accordance with the COVID-19 travel checklist for business approval. As stated previously, the reason for travel must be considered essential.

Recently, several countries including Canada, France, the United Kingdom and the United States have imposed further measures to protect the health and safety of their citizen and to help prevent air travel from being a source of further introduction and spread of COVID-19. For that matter, these countries now request that all air passengers provide a proof of a negative test before entering the country.

Given the speed at which travel restrictions are changing and disparities between a country’s requirements to another, please refer to this pre-departure travel matrix for all details pertaining to procedures and necessary actions to undertake when planning a business trip.

This document is subject to change periodically as countries announce further restrictions and measures. Note that we will provide updates when major changes occur, however it is the employees’ responsibility to take all the necessary steps to ensure their compliance with the restrictions in effect throughout their trip.

Also, for the safety of our employees who must travel for work, it is now forbidden to travel with a spouse or companion during business travel and to extend your stay for personal reasons, when travelling under essential services authorization.

For all the details from field trip planning to returning home, make sure you read our COVID-19 protocol for employees travelling for work.
