Clarifications on the process for advancing your appointment for your 2nd dose

To all CAE employees in Montreal and Mirabel

We have received several questions regarding the process to advance the appointment for the 2nd dose. As a result, you will find below each of the steps to help you change the date of your 2nd appointment.

As a reminder, your extended family and friends can also receive their 2nd dose at our vaccination centre even if they had their 1st dose elsewhere. There is only one exception: those who received AstraZeneca for their 1st dose and who wish to get this vaccine for the second dose must take their second appointment at the same location than their 1st dose.

Thanks to our private link (below), you, your family and your friends will have access to more availability and will be able to book time slots more quickly!

STEPS TO ADVANCE YOUR APPOINTMENT BY 2nd DOSE

Step 1: Cancel your appointment for the 2nd dose

Know that you must first cancel your appointment for 2nd dose that was assigned to you during your first appointment to be able to advance it.

You have the option to cancel your appointment directly from your confirmation email by clicking on “Cancel” at the bottom of the email. Otherwise, you can cancel your appointment in one of two ways:

If you had your 1st dose elsewhere than the CAE Vaccination Centre:

  1. Go on Clic Santé and select “COVID-19 Vaccine – 1st dose”, then enter your postal code.
  2. Select the location where you received your 1st dose.
  3. Close the automatic message appearing on the location page of your 1st dose and click on “Cancel an appointment” in the upper right corner of your screen.

  3. Make sure that the coupon number is correct and click on “Cancel”.

Step 2: Advancing the appointment for the 2nd dose

You can advance your appointment for the 2nd dose now, making sure you respect the two following conditions:

  1. Your second appointment takes place 8 weeks after your 1st dose.

AND

  1. Your second appointment takes place from the date authorized for your group baed on the following calendar:

For example, 60 years old and older can reserve their 2nd dose starting this Friday, if they have received their 1st dose at least 8 weeks ago.

Exceptionally this week, due to technical issues on Clic Santé, people aged 60 and over who received their 1st dose at least 8 weeks ago, could get vaccinated without an appointment.

Types of vaccines and availability of appointments

The vaccines given for the second dose will be the same as the first dose. The Clic Santé website will recognize in your file the vaccine you received for the 1st dose and will show you the available appointments for the same vaccine 8 weeks after your 1st dose.

Therefore, if you make an appointment today and do not see any availability, there may be 2 possible explanations:

  1. We haven’t opened appointments yet for your 8 weeks deadline.
  2. There isn’t anymore availability for your type of vaccine at this time.

In either of these cases, do not worry, we have a number of dates open until the end of June and we will open more every week, so be sure to check the site frequently and we assure you that you will be able to receive your 2nd dose at CAE this summer.

Informations for people who received their first dose of AstraZeneca at our Centre

Since these people received the AstraZeneca vaccine as their first dose and we will receive the same amount of this type of vaccine again on June 21, we have automatically moved their appointment up to that date.

Also, they should have received a confirmation email with the new appointment time to receive the second dose of AstraZeneca.

These people will not have to take any action. However, if they wish to change the time or date of their appointment, they should contact coronavirus@cae.com.
